Mind Coaching

What Is Mind Coaching?

There have probably been as many different answers as there have been people that have asked the question. Sometimes it is easier to say what Mind Coaching is not. It is not Counselling, it is not Psychotherapy and it is not mentoring, although there are similarities with all of those. Mind Coaching does not dwell on the past, it looks to the future with a belief that we all have the resources within ourselves to realize our wildest dreams.

How You Will Benefit From Mind Coaching?

When you buy a new computer, it comes with an online manual explaining how to use all the different programs and applications. Unfortunately, even though your mind is far more agile and complex than the most powerful computer, you weren’t born with a user manual and it is up to you to figure out the best way to get the most out of your life. On occasions this can be overwhelming and society has a tendency to make us believe that asking for help is a sign of weakness. Well I am here to tell you, this is certainly is not the case. Some of the finest talent and greatest minds on our planet use, or have used, coaches, in one form or another to help give them the edge. Mind Coaching will help you to focus, to adapt and to constantly strive for improvement on your road to achieving your goals, even if you don’t know what they are at this stage. That last part is crucial, because some people think they need to be clear on their objectives before they hire a Mind Coach. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you want somebody by your side to help, encourage, motivate and occasionally advise you. If you want somebody that has no ulterior motive and whose only purpose is to help you to become as successful as you want to be. Then coaching is for you.

Why This Mind Coach?

Clinical Hypnotherapy and PsychotherapyIf you woke up one morning with a headache you may well take a pain killer. If the following morning the same thing happened and presuming you hadn’t been drinking heavily, you’re quite likely to do the same thing. You may even do this for three, four or even five consecutive mornings. However, at some stage you are going to think you need to make an appointment to see your Doctor and get to the bottom of what is causing your headaches. You can only treat symptoms for so long before the wisest course of action is to get to the cause. A lot of Mind Coaches deal with actions, by setting to-do lists, goals and strategic plans. That is all well and good and there is a time and a place for that. However, I prefer to give people tools for life and understand what they need to do to make change long lasting. If you are a serial procrastinator then a to-do list probably won’t work. If you are a chronic worrier, then setting goals won’t help, and if you feel stuck in your life, constant over analysing won’t release you from that. Such circumstances need to be worked on at a deeper level by understanding your values, beliefs and the thought processes that stop you moving forward. That is what I do. I also do all that goal setting stuff too when the time is right!

What Don’t I Do?

As a Mind Coach I do not spend much time in a clients past, I use Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to do that. I do not do relationship counselling and do not take on cases such as PTSD, Bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia as I am not a qualified psychologist. Finally, I’m not a magician. I can help you if you have the desire to change and the tenacity and commitment to do the necessary work. I cannot help you if you think sitting down with a Mind Coach once per week for a couple of months is all that’s necessary for you to have the life of your dreams.
